Privacy notice
This notice explains how Bangladeshi Doctors in the UK uses the personal information you give us. Last updated September 2026.
Who we are
Bangladeshi Doctors in the UK Limited (company number 12229508) is responsible for your information as the data controller. You can reach us at mail [at] bangladeshidoctors.uk.
What we collect
When you join through our sign-up form: your name, email address, telephone number, the medical school of your primary qualification, your current hospital and, only if you choose to share them, links to your social media profiles. When you contact us, we keep your message and contact details. Photographs and video are taken at our events and may include you.
How we use it
To manage your membership; to tell you about our teaching, mentoring, national conference and other initiatives; to organise our events; to reply to your enquiries; and to show our work on this website and our social media.
Our lawful basis
We rely on our legitimate interests in running a membership society and its events, and on your consent where we ask for it, such as for email updates. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information, and we will not pass your details to sponsors or partner organisations without your permission. Your information is held by the service providers we use to run the society, who act on our instructions: Google, for our sign-up form and membership records, and Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Some providers may process data outside the UK, with the safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
For as long as you remain a member. If you ask us to remove you, we will delete your details within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something for longer.
Photographs and video
If you would rather not appear in photographs or video from our events, tell the organisers on the day or contact us, and we will remove images of you from this website on request.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or stop using it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
